This is a fan-made adventure. It is not an official Frontier quest. The characters and lore exist, but the context is created by the Élite Dangereuse team.

You stroll through Bailey Landing station in the Adenates system after delivering a shipment of hydrogen peroxide. You think it might be a good opportunity to check if pre-engineered weapons are available at Pioneer Supply.

As you walk, you come across a high-ranking individual negotiating with mercenaries.

You approach the conversation that piques your curiosity. There might be some profit to be made on the way back.

A Strange Conversation

It appears that her husband, a renowned Duke from Adenates, has been missing for 2 days.
The Duchess presents you with a hastily scribbled notebook. The Duke seems to have mentioned a matter of maintaining his reputation with other nobles.
She describes her husband as dressed in a brown leather jacket with a vertical red stripe down the center. He is a young Duke with short blond hair. She also reveals his identity: he is Duke Rice.

The Puzzle

After scanning the notebook shown to you by the Duchess, you submit the data to your onboard computer.
Utilizing the latest advancements in data mining technology, you discover through a multi-layered search that the coordinates of the system where the Duke is located can be deduced from the notes.
He would be in a system of type HR ABC.
The three digits named A, B, and C can be deduced as follows:

A: Number of celestial bodies in Adenates where it is possible to land on the surface, all divided by 2.

B: Number of giant planets in Adenates with rings.

C: Number of giant planets in Adenates without rings.

Once the system is discovered, proceed to step 2

Find the Duke

You are now en route to the system where the Duke is located.

Once on-site, you receive a notification of the calculation result from your onboard computer. Data analysis is complete!
The fact that you have reached the correct system has allowed for the finalization of the triangulation of the Duke's coordinates!

He would be on the station located in the midst of 6 gas giants with rings. So, there would be 3 gas giants with rings on each side of the station on a map of the local system.

You immediately head to the station. On the way, you discover which minor faction controls the station, and you immediately understand the reputation aspect mentioned by the Duchess. It is indeed the correct station!

Once the station is found, go there and proceed to step 3

Meet the Duke

You have docked. It's time to meet the Duke. Disembark and head to the bar. Duke T. Rice is located on a staircase.

When you make contact with the Duke, he reveals that he is actually trying to acquire a 'mookah' to give to the Duchess for her birthday. It's a creature native to the planet Faner. This small quadruped with soft multicolored fur is better suited for rich estates than restaurant kitchens. While its meat is bitter, it turns out to be an adorable little companion. However, a mookah requires a lot of attention. Neglected, it has a tendency to let itself die, and its fur turns a brownish color. The animal is mainly exported to the Empire, where it is highly prized. Its value is such that a slave is usually assigned to its well-being during transport.
