A debt
You're strolling through the Fort Dixon market in the VEGA system in search of Vega Slimming Algae, the virtues of which are sure to please some of your acquaintances. No sooner have you bought a few specimens and struck a profitable deal with the seller than your datapad alerts you to the arrival of a message;
You're astonished to read it, sent to you by a "ghost" from the past.
"Hey old buddy! How are you? I guess you remember our classes and missions for the Federation, right? Well, listen, I’m still in it. They even promoted me; I’m a Lieutenant now! Pretty cool, huh? I handle everything related to federal archives in connection with Universal Cartographics. Not bad, huh? Well, not so much. One of my subordinates messed up. He lost the position of an object, and it’s not going to go over well with my superiors. In short, I’m in trouble. You must be wondering why I’m telling you all this, huh? Well, I’m going to ask you to take care of this matter. Not out of nostalgia for the good old days, or even for money, but because I remind you that you owe me, and you owe me big time. Right now, I’m stuck and can’t do much, so I’m counting on you and your word of honor!
Go to the HIP 112001 system. I have a significant debt at Sagan City that I’ve partly repaid. I owed credits to quite a few people, you know? The bar, Pioneer, and even Apex if I remember correctly. Deliver a ton of gold to clear my debt and then go see Lucius at the bar. He said he could help us with our business. Our business? Well, yeah, from now on, you’re in the same mess as me, old buddy."
Alright, I’m counting on you, Nathan Samuel.»
Once you've completed this step, move on to the next.
Clear the slate
After landing on the Outpost, you sell back the ton of gold as requested. Once you've done so, you leave your ship and go straight to meet barkeeper Lucius Decker. After introducing yourself, Decker stares at you for a long time. Finally, he pours you a drink and says in a stern tone:
"Finally, that scoundrel has paid his debt, about time! Honestly, he’s lucky to be in the Navy, otherwise, we would have found his corpse floating in space long ago. You can’t imagine the sum he owed us here!"
To proceed to step 3, indicate the amount of your friend’s debt (without spaces, only numbers).

The message
The evening continues at the bar in Sagan City, and tongues start to loosen. You learn that one of your friend’s former conquests, who is still privy to his affairs, has left for the LOSIN system. That’s where you decide to go next.
LOS IN
Once you have arrived in the LOSIN system, head to Wohler Landing station. Don’t delay too much; your ‘friend’s’ quest must progress.
Despite a rather merciless headache, probably due to the concoction you were served at Sagan City, you manage to remember that you need to go to Vista Genomics; that’s where this Ingrid Boyle works, who has information for you.
Ingrid Boyle stares at you as soon as you enter, and once you announce who you are and why you’re here, she turns her back and leaves the room without a word. A few minutes later, the woman returns with a datapad and a glass filled with a liquid in which an effervescent tablet is fizzing. She hands you the datapad:
’This is for you, here’s a recording that was brought to my attention.’
You thank her as you take the datapad. But before you can look at what it contains, Ingrid interrupts you by handing you the glass:
’You’ll need this as well… for your impending headache. I listened to this message and tried to understand what it’s about. It was a failure, and it took a good dose of this medication to ease my headache.’
You look at the datapad, under the audio message, only one sentence is written:
It’s the small details that matter. It’s the small details that betray us.

The vestige
CONGRATULATIONS, you found it!
You have now arrived at SOL, the cradle of humanity and a key location in the Federation. You are practically at the end of your journey; all that’s left is to find the sought-after object.
The object is over 2 million light-seconds away from you, and only your FSS allows you to know its location. All that’s left is to head towards it and scan the tourist beacon nearby. ’Traveling’ will take some time (about 30 minutes), so you have time to reflect on this whole story and gather all the puzzle pieces.
Have you found all the clues left for you?
The amount of the debt is surprising, isn’t it? The name of the first Outpost, does it remind you of someone? And the name of your friend… have you thought of a quadrigram?
