The Order of the Far God (also known as the Far God Cult) was formed in 3304 in the Human Bubble. Members of this mysterious order worship the Far God and the Thargoids as his Heralds. The cult reappeared in 3307 when several megaships were built. This order has been the subject of numerous feats of arms, articles and other conflicts.
This adventure is brought to you by your ED Trip agency. Find out more with this article. Have a good flight CMDR!
In this adventure, we invite you to follow in the footsteps of the Order of the Far God, and visit several sites where you can read the diaries left by its members.
We'll take you on a tour of two planetary bases and mega-vessels.
You'll discover part of the history of this very special sect, which has been in the news since 3304 and continues today with the Dedicant event.
To begin our adventure, we're taking you to the Etain system, to a very mysterious abandoned base built around 3304. This is on planet 4A at coordinates -19.95, 103.59.

The Sanctum
The base is called The Sanctum. It has become silent and inert, and a strange green fog has plunged it into a most disquieting atmosphere! This fog is the mark of those who destroyed the station and annihilated its inhabitants.
On site, you should find four of the nine messages available in this system (and yes, we still have some work to do here).
Search the database and find these 4 messages:
- The diary of Thaddeus MacRaith, First Herald of the Second Chapter. This will set the scene, you'll see! - The diary of Vanya Hargrave, Third Herald of the First Chapter confirming well the indoctrination of this order, - The diary of Ruben Delgado, Member of the Seventh Chapter disturbing to say the least, - The diary of Dr. Hester Dolmayne, first witness of the Sixth Chapter on the research carried out by the Order...
It's not impossible that a Thargoid ship will come your way when you visit the bases in stages 1 and 2... So be careful, and get your camera ready!
Go now to the planet 4C, 16 Ls from where you are in the Etain system.
Once the step is completed, proceed to the next step
The Prophet
This time, the aim is to find the Order's second abandoned base in this system. Its name is The Prophet and it is located at coordinates 29.95, -97.86 and was discovered at the end of August 3304.
The base was discovered thanks to the Eagle Eye network, which revealed Thargoid activity in the area.
The Prophet brings you the last five of the system's nine messages:
- The diary of Kiona O'Connor, member of the Fifth Chapter - The diary of Nash Severin, Second disciple of the Fifth Chapter - The diary of Corinne de la Torre, member of the Fourth Chapter - The diary of Noah Whiteleaf, Second witness of the First Chapter - The diary of Nathan Summers, member of the Sixteenth Chapter
You can also use the opportunity to pick up a few materials scattered around the base!
--- Instant Lore ---
-- Holy War between the Order and the Church of the Eternal Void --
It is said that the interior of the Order's hive chapels were dark and reminiscent of Thargoid ships, with a strong smell of ammonia wafting everywhere.
These bases are obviously no longer active and have been destroyed, as the Order doesn't have only friends, even among those they venerate. According to our information, it was the Thargoids who destroyed these two bases. However, other sites have also been destroyed, with many victims.
Among the sect's fiercest opponents was the Church of the Eternal Void. The latter worshipped the Guardians as protectors against Thargoid demons.
In July 3304 this church was declared illegal (read the news).
You should now have a clearer idea of who this order and its members are.
However, our adventure is not over, for the Order of the Far God has not only been building colonies in the Etain system...
The sect has also built several mega-vessels!
Let's set off on a short journey nearly 130 LY from our system: en route to Mudhrid.
Once the step is completed, proceed to the next step
Sacrosanct
Once there, less than 1,200 Ls from the arrival star, lies the Sacrosanct, a ship that's not in the best of shape!
You should find it when you get to the system in your navigation panel. If not, run a system scan.
The ship orbits the planet 2A, which is possible to land on, if you feel like stretching your legs a bit after the trip.
You won't find any logs or information about what happened on the Sacrosanct. But the green cloud and the marks on the hull, broken in two, could give you a clue to the drama that unfolded here... unless appearances are deceptive...
Of course, our agency is here to guide you. So here's the story of the Sacrosanct:
Due to the conflict between the federal forces and the Order of the Far God, the Testament and the Perdition no longer follow their usual route and seem to have left for an unknown destination (you can have fun looking for it...).
The ED Trip team apologizes for this inconvenience.
However, don't be disappointed, because in August 3309, we added a sixth stage to our adventure including the latest cult-related events: the Dedicant (stage 6)!
So your adventure isn't over yet, and you can move straight on to the next stage.
Once the step is completed, proceed to the next step
Testament and Perdition
Testament is a Sagan-class tourist vessel launched on August 5, 3307 in the Panjabell system.
As you may have discovered in the Mudhrid system, listening to the story of the Sacrosanct, two mega-vessels are still in operation to support the projects of the Cult of the Far God. The first is called Testament and has a very specific role: a missionary vessel for the Cult of the Far God!
We salute you in the name of the Far God!
We have come to your system to bring you the word of the One who will soon manifest in our reality.
We, the faithful few, spread the message of the impending apocalypse. When the Far God descends from hyperspace, all life in our galaxy will come to an end, leaving only a pure void for this holiest of beings to inhabit.
His heralds, the angelic beings some call Thargoids, are already among us, preparing the way for His arrival. We are here to help your people prepare for the extinction of humanity.
The Far God is coming. Join us and accept His final blessing!
Version translated from the original from English wiki.
Perdition is a freedom-class survey vessel launched on August 5, 3307 in the Panjabell system.
The Perdition, meanwhile, is used as a ritual vessel by the cult.
Various sacrifices and sordid practices are carried out...
Welcome to Perdition;
Our mission is to invoke the Far God, and we're asking you to join us.
The moment of His sacred manifestation is approaching, but we can't wait to be freed from the chains of life. Aboard this vessel, we practice the holiest of rituals, absorb the purest ichor of xenokind, and perform the most painful sacrifices.
By proving that we are worthy, we will surely hasten His coming!
Help us invoke the Far God. You too can witness when the galaxy burns at His touch.

And now we're off to the Popontia system to find out what happens next.
Once the step is completed, proceed to the next step
The Popontia War
Here we are in September 3308. The Federation takes a very dim view of this Order of the God of the Edge and clearly wishes to put an end to it.
On September 29, 3309 a conflict broke out in Popontia as Federation agents attempted to arrest followers of the Sect (read the news). The latter were in this system under the protection of the Workers of Popontia Free, who were manufacturing a new Megahsip for the Order: the Dedicant.
The Federation won this battle (read news) and appears to be putting an end to the story, arresting the members and banning the practice of the order in October 3308.
However, in June 3309, the "dossier" Confine God Sect is opened again when the Alliance decides to grant amnesty to members of the order (read news) and asks the Federation to repatriate members to its space. Expulsion to the Alliance is effective once President Hudson has accepted the proposal. The transfer to Alliance systems from the Popontia system was to take place aboard the Dedicant under Federal escort to the Mullag system, where it never arrived.
Indeed, on June 16, the ship disappeared during its journey (see news) and appears to have been lost or hijacked. Subsequently, numerous searches are carried out to find the vessel housing the cult members, and several contacts are made with the one the cult designates as the "Preceptress": Seo Jin-ae (see newss). The hunt for the Dedicant is stepped up at the end of July 3309 (read news) as clues are detected in the LP 714-58 system (you can, if you wish, go to this system and search for clues there) and finally gives focus on July 27 (read news).
Finally, it was on August 3 that the Dedicant was officially located in the HIP 19600 system. Now is the time to get down there and visit this wreck.
Once the step is completed, proceed to the next step
The Dedicant
Once you've located the Dedicant, you'll need to retrieve 10 logs containing messages from cult members and their escorts. If you have the courage (you'll need it), you're invited to listen to these audio logs because, if you pay attention, you'll be able to hear Thargoids... they make noises.... but they also talk !!!!!
No way that worked! They were totally out of it! This Far God may be real after all. Well, for the record, I'm the one who set off the trap that neutralized the feds. Me. The Sixty-first Adherent of the Eleventh True Chapter. I saw the detonator hidden in the wall as we passed by, all it took was a little kick. The First Herald had told us that the chip implanted under our skin would protect us from the noise, but it was so deafening that my ears are still ringing!
Hang on a sec. Uh... where am I?
Ah, whatever. They won’t find me. I was running forever. If I keep the door locked I’ll be safe. It’s not like the Feds are going to sweep every room on the ship. They’ve probably still trying to put their brains back together.
Guess I’ll make myself comfortable…
Oh! What the hell is that?
Ooh, gee. Contraband, huh? I can see why some people stopped spreading the word. Yes, his secret is safe with me.
Could it be a gift from the God of the Confines? To thank me for helping others escape the feds. Seems only fair, and there's no sacred text that says we have to be sober. What's the point, after all, if the galaxy is about to be reduced to ashes?
They're so beautiful.
The way they appear out of nowhere... Poof, all of a sudden there they are, with their wonderful lights... They look like spinning tops, like the ones my grandfather used to make. They were just bits of paper at the end of a stick, but they swallowed something... magical. They spun so fast when we were running around. And Grandpa would say to me. Sophie, be careful when you run, but I couldn't take my eyes off the spinning tops, they were so pretty...
I miss him a lot, he was the only one who was nice to me.
But I'm not Sophie anymore, I'm the Seventy-First Adherent of the Eleventh True Chapter. I broke my chains to worship them.
There are so many of them. It must be the God of the contins who sent them to save us from the others, ha ha. I wonder how they recognize the truly faithful.
I imagine that it's the God of the confines who tells them, because he knows everything. They're so graceful. They look like flowers in the wind. Like the spinning tops of my childhood. This is it. they're coming to save us...!
The herald was right, I can see them now.
It's magnificent...
Ah !
Thank you. See you soon.
What a mess. Damn cultists. This ship is full of traps. Fortunately, they're not lethal, but we've got a few guys who've taken a beating.
Okay, here's the plan: the three escort teams secure their remaining prisoners before sending a squad to deal with the ship's operations center. Alpha takes over Engineering to reactivate the hyperreactor. Bravo takes charge of the generator. Charlie takes charge of the system network. And what about us?
We're as useful as chocolate coffee cups. Remote access to almost all the ship's functions is disabled. I can only touch the life support system, and I'm not going to, with the bad luck we're having at the moment.
Internal communications still work, but there's no way of reaching the outside world. Honestly, their entire communications system is a mess;
With a whole bunch of pre-recorded messages preaching this God-of-the-confines nonsense.
It's a good thing we've got our glow-sticks. This place is downright gloomy, and the smell is infectious.
It's like someone peed in every nook and cranny. I know the Thargoids like ammonia worlds, but spreading this stench around the ship in their honor is a bit extreme, isn't it? My guy likes red wine, that's not why he takes showers with it.
What is it?
This is Agent Gateshead, recording a personal log. We've lost internal communications on the bridge. I think a scrambler has been installed inside the ship. None of the escort teams could escape it. The last message was from West's team heading to engineering. He said the access paths kept changing before contact was broken.
Walton found a cache full of sacred texts on one of the consoles. I've been going through them in the hope of determining what these lunatics will do next once they're out of hiding, but this thing is full of nihilistic hogwash about how beautiful the galaxy will be once we rid it of all its inhabitants. According to the time stamp, the text was being edited when the Dedicant was seized. It mentions an expedition into Thargoid space. What an incredibly stupid idea.
In any case, this True Chapter sect is far more proactive than its peers. Clearly, some of its followers got nervous when Theta Seven blew up the Sacrosanct a while back. Texts advocating pacifism and non-resistance have been modified. The True Chapters now state that it is permissible to resist when someone comes to "threaten your physical integrity before you have received the blessing of the God of the confines".
They continue to ban all forms of violence, but it seems that traps and jammers are allowed.
What was it?
Oh my goodness.
Oh non, oh non, oh non non non !
My God, I've got to get out of here! I'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE! LET ME OUT!
NON PAS ICI. PAS ICI !
My savior, I have regained control of the Dedicant's sacred bridges in your name. Let me now serve your Will. Grant me the strength to keep your devoted servants out of danger. Glory to the god of the confines.
I... I did it. I can't believe I escaped. The time has come to prove my worth, let's see... We were at this junction when the first trap was triggered... a disciple triggered the second here while we were on the run... So the Third Chapel is our nearest refuge. What do the cameras say?
There you are. Stay strong, my brothers and sisters, I'll protect you from our persecutors. By the way, if I close this corridor and deactivate this access point... Perfect. The infidels will have no choice but to take the remaining prisoners to sector 86. And there are other traps along the way.
Who'd have thought it would be so much fun to do the will of the God of the Edge?
This is the Ninth Disciple of the Fifth True Chapter.
Yes, disciple, that's a very good idea. Head for the 16th access point, I'll let you through and block the way behind you once you've reached the hyper-reactor controls. Intruders won't be able to find you.
Our victory is at hand. May the God of the far reaches witness our success.
We're nearing the end. After all these years, we're going to get rid of those horrible people who hate us so much. To hell with them all! We won't miss you in the next life, I tell you!
Where have you been? What are you up to? I'm going to find you. You can't hide forever.
If only my wife could see me. I wish she was sitting next to me, harping on about how I'm going to "screw it up". that won't happen today. Kathy! I've locked up the federal intruders, and the children of the God of the Edge are safe. All I needed was an opportunity to prove myself, but you never listened to me, did you?
My destiny has brought me this far, I'm convinced of that now. The god of the confines has asked me personally to watch over our followers, and I'm not going to screw it up.
Ah! There you are. Federation rats, in my labyrinth. But where are you...?
...Agent West again? Oh, it was very clever of you to escape from the last corridor I trapped you in, I'll give you that.
You know something, Agent West? You remind me of an old boss of mine. He looked as serious as you. And he was always yelling at me because he was a stupid little bully. I bet you're just like him. Mean and selfish. Well, bullies should all be locked up!
Why don't you try to escape now, Agent West? Don't you have somewhere to go? No one to call? Loser!
What's that noise? More Federation vermin? Where's it coming from?
No. It's impossible. I can't stay here. It's too dangerous, I've got to get out of here.
I have to get out of here! I can't stay here! I'm going to die!
I've got to get out! I'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF HERE!
It seems our destiny leads us far from the federal oppressor. The god of the confines guides our path. I find myself in the Inner Sanctum of the Dedicant in the company of many brothers and sisters of the True Chapters. We are safe for the moment. Our tormentors will have the greatest difficulty in finding us. And we will not let heretics continue to desecrate our sacred home.
My faith has never wavered, even when we were imprisoned. Even in the face of insults, bullying and spitting... Because I know the truth. It was our piety that was put to the test, and it was with pride that I saw most of my fellow students cling to the convictions that the God of the confines demands of his faithful. We succeeded.
When the flames come to absolve this galaxy of its sins, I will be reborn, I am now intimately convinced.
Once, we were lost. Today, we are the blessed ones. Thanks to us, peace will come from the ashes of the damned. All will be purified by the tears of the God of the ends.
The Ninth Disciple brings the good word. Our prayer has been transmitted to the void, and we now await the heralds of the God of the confines.
In difficult times, we implore our Savior to protect us.
I tried to convince our fellow humans that paradise awaited us all. I offered them a place among the faithful, but all I received in return was rejection. I implored those who could not see to open their eyes. We reached out to them, even when they took us prisoner. And when they hunted us down, we tolerated their malice.
Even when they've taken our lives.
But the God of the ends sees all.
And today, as the Federation seeks to parcel us out as Retail, we decide to resist and shatter this illusion of control.
The heralds will soon receive our offering. A signal will broadcast the songs of their ships as a token of our faith.
We enter our pods and dream of paradise. My hands tremble at the thought of discovering the beauty that awaits me in sleep;
What happens to our physical bodies is of little importance, for we are already martyrs in the eyes of the misguided.
Glory to the God of the ends.
This is Alpha Escort Team, requesting backup. Control, please respond. We have a problem on the Dedicant. Do you copy?
Damn it... Control, this is Senior Agent Desmond West. Please respond.
Calling all FIA agents, on all agency channels. We have an emergency situation on the Dedicant mega-vessel.
We fell into a trap in one of the common areas. A sort of stun grenade that sent us crashing to the floor. It took us several minutes to recover. The fanatics must have been prepared, because most of them got the hell out of there while we were coming to our senses.
Manson! Bukowski! Get yours over there, with the others. Over there!
...we'll take the remaining cultists to the initial checkpoint. Bravo and Charlie teams should reach theirs in less than 15 minutes. Gateshead's guys are already on deck. We'll regroup once the prisoners are secured. If anyone can hear me, please pass on the message to the FIA command center on Popontia.
OK, everyone! Get your act together. There's work to be done, so get a move on.
Oh, no. That's a joke.
Control, please respond! This is Alpha escort team. The Dedicant's hyper-reactor has been activated. Repeat, the Dedicant's...
Someone doesn't want us to go that way.
Farrow, open that access panel. Steinburg, look for air vents, service ducts, anything that will keep us moving forward.... Of course.
We've got a problem, the Dedicant configuration has changed. I think the cultists have taken control of the security network. We know where we need to go, but we're continually blocked by doors that open and close in front of us.
Engineering is a kilometer away, and several bridges below. Farrow and Wilson think they can transfer control of the FSD reactor back to the helm, but getting there will take time.
If the fanatics control the security doors, they'll surely have blocked the express elevators. And they may have set other traps, so we'll have to tread carefully.
Gateshead, if you can hear me: send a distress signal as soon as possible, that's priority No. 1. After that, I want you to access the security network. Open an internal channel that others can't hack into. If you don't receive me, I guess we'll just have to do it the hard way.
This message will be repeated over and over until we reach engineering, just in case. I'll then update you on the situation.
Stay focused, guys. Hold the bridge until we get the hyperreactor back online. I'm counting on you.
And so the final chapter of this adventure draws to a close, and we hope you enjoyed it;
The latter introduced you to a very strange order through a visit to two abandoned bases, a mega-vessel destroyed under very peculiar circumstances and two mega-vessels spreading the word of this sect wherever they go.
But don't think that the story of the Order of the Far God is over!
Recently, during the Proteus Wave affair, the Order member spoke out about Redemption practices and réjouis du fiasco which took place at HIP 22460, the Order was subsequently banned by the Federation and the Dedicant found... who knows what will happen next
