This is CMDR Amos Lupokati, it is June 21, 3310 and my days are numbered.

If you're listening to this, it's because they probably stopped me before I had a chance to reveal what I found.


It's been 6 months now since I made a disturbing discovery while investigating the disappearance of a young woman: Isla Elmasri. 
She disappeared just after being rescued and sent to a medical facility in the Alpha Centauri system.


All traces of this rescue have disappeared... but, I was able to pick up a trail that led me far. Too far... !

I began my investigation on this little-used outpost. Apart from transporters for Hutton orbital, there aren't many people here...
And that's just what I was looking for.


My source had told me that this system was the last place Isla Elmasri had been seen.
All I had to do was find the right person, and for that, there was nothing better than a local.

After paying a dozen Brandy to some chatty carriers, I finally got my info : The crash site on the planet 2042 L1.

[Laugh] Only an excellent pilot could manage to crash and leave such an intact carcass. 


And that's lucky!
I'll almost certainly be able to extract the ship's black box. The crash should be recorded along with information on where she came from... well, rather what she was trying to escape from. The answers lie out there.


The cockpit is shattered from the inside, no doubt she managed to get out of here alive.

'The Church of the Path' ... So that was what she was running away from : a bunch of fanatics in togas. 


My little finger tells me that Isla Elmasri's sudden disappearance is linked to this strange cult. I've done my research and found nothing... Either they're very good at hiding, or they're brand new. 


I was able to gather 4 messages on the spot. Strangely, the first one is missing... Another one of their shenanigans to erase evidence.

I have no choice but to infiltrate their ranks and find out the truth!


As well as transcribing the messages found on site, I'm going to leave you a way of following me. Only a meticulous investigation will be able to piece together the puzzle...

We’ve been lied to all this time. No one truly ascends. We toil under false truths and when the time comes these chosen ones. the ones that have given everything. are simply fodder for the slavers. Sold like so much cheap meat.

One last contribution to the path. Isn’t it curious that none of the senior brothers have ever ascended.
Those that preach and deliver false truths. They remain.


I need to escape; I need to tell people what is happening here. But i fear that some of the senior brothers and Sisters are suspicious of me.


They watch me all the time, Brother Aiden especially. He says we are not worthy to walk the path that our faith is impure. He is always watching.


I fear I will never escape.



Some of the acolytes are in need of re-education, 


I have reasons to doubt their faith and we must set them upon the path. 

They are not true believers in the path. They bleat like sheep and follow. But they cannot see. Once they have given their all we shall be rid of them.


Elmasri in particular has become the thorn that digs into our flesh. She must be brought back to the path or silenced.


Maybe we can accelerate her path to ascension. 

Yes, yes. Sister Elmasri will ascend.

We the walkers on the path are chosen, we are the truth, we are the righteous, we are the children of the cosmos and we are the ones who shall ascend.


Ascension is the destination and the journey. It is the path that we all walk my brothers and sisters. We must give up our possessions. our riches. our senses over to it. Only then can we truly ascend.



Many may attempt to divert us from the path, or reject the truth like Sister Isla.


But they shall not steer us back to the impure. Our route has been plotted and cannot be altered. The non believer may be shown the path and encouraged to walk it. But only we the righteous may truly walk it.


For us ascension is close at hand. Rejoice. For others the path continues until they have fully given themselves over to it’s teachings.


Now drink my brothers and sisters. Rejoice in your transcendence from this plain of existence to the next.


We are the children of the cosmos, the walkers of the path we are the ones who shall ascend.
