Signal M13

Your friend Professor Obicera has asked you to join him in Drake Town, in the Olgrea system, to help him with his latest research project. After landing on the station, you hurry to join the scientist in his laboratory at the top of the large central tower.

Drake Town / Olgrea C 6

The station is named in honor of 20th-century astrophysicist Frank Drake.

Signal analysis

After a warm welcome, Professor Obicera begins to present his work :

Since being able to travel to the stars, Humanity has abandoned the practice of listening to radio signals from space. These days, I'm one of the last people still using a radiotelescope, and my fellow scientists attach no importance to my research.

For several months now, my measuring instruments have been picking up a whole series of signals from the globular cluster M13. One radio signal in particular caught my attention. I named it "Signal M13".

Signal M13

The analysis tools at my disposal haven't yet been able to decipher anything, but I remain convinced that this signal is intended for us. According to my theories, an intelligent life form is trying to contact us.

What message is hidden in this signal? Why do they contact us? What are their intentions? Do they want to meet us?

If we succeed, it could be the greatest achievement of my career.

Help Professor Obicera decipher the contents of the M13 signal and understand the intentions of this intelligent life form.

M13, also known as the Great Hercules Cluster, is a globular star cluster orbiting the Milky Way, outside the galactic disk, tens of thousands of light-years away. M13 is not accessible in Elite Dangerous.
